• Kinetic and stoichiometric studies on new catalysts in the chlorate process. Decomposition of hypochlorous acid at elevated temperature. YCl 3 catalyzes decomposition via formation O 2 . Y Te(OH) 6 slightly accelerate production. is a more active catalyst than but inferior compared to Cr(VI). By pursuing aim identifying types electrolytic production NaClO from NaCl (chlorate process), we report detailed study accelerated by yttrium(III) chloride (YCl ), oxide (Y ) telluric (Te(OH) 80 °C. The results were with those obtained uncatalyzed chromium(VI) catalyzed reactions. In general, HOCl occurs two competing paths toward ClO ? or case , proceeds oxygen path over entire studied pH range. under acidic conditions, however noted catalytic effect probably due “self-buffering” reaction mixture suspension).
